Brought together through life, loss, a danish, a festival, a friendship, some ideas, hopes and a collective openness and understanding. Looking at a Face offers us a glimpse of how we are seen, who we see, and what we choose to see. A window through which to see a face, as much or as little as you can see through a window.

Looking at a Face is a collection of improvisations by this group of five musicians. Five friends (now), some of which only met briefly, or have never even met before this recording session, gathered together to try something new, to look at their own and each other’s ideas together, to react, create, and share some new ones.

Recorded in the first days of a late Wisconsin spring. Days later a blizzard came through.
